Would I be able to hang curtain rods to my concrete ceiling?
I live in a studio apartment that has a concrete ceiling. I want to hang up a curtain to separate the living area from the sleeping area. I don’t want to cause any damage to my concrete ceiling that the building owners will charge me for. Ikea sells these curtain rods that can be hung from the ceiling but will they work on concrete? Again I’m only renting and want to this without drilling or causing major damage to the ceiling. Mark where your bracket goes and then use Liquid Nails (Lowes or Home Depot), slather on good and then put the bracket in place. Use duck tape to hold it in place for a good 24 hours before you put any weight on it.
When you are ready to move, jerk the bracket off and then use a putty knife to scrape off excess liquid nails. You may have to touch up with paint.

How does one extend the IKEA Ore shower curtain?
I have attempted everything from pulling the inner tube out (which seemed to only result in stretching the spring) to twisting the tubes in opposite direction (which resulted in seemingly nothing). Does anyone know how this rod is to be extended? Supposedly it is to double in length…

I don’t have any experience with your shower rod, but I have some experience with Ikea. Call them, take it back, or recycle it (it’s an $8-10 shower rod). If they can’t explain hot to extend it, or won’t exchange it for one that works, take your business elsewhere.

How can I hang something from the ceiling?
I bought some curtain rods and holders from Ikea to hang curtains around my bed. The holders need to be screwed into the ceiling. What kind of screws do I need to make sure it doesn’t fall out? The whole contraption will probably way between 5-10 pounds.

Use an anchor. I make a hole with a nail 1st. Then when I’m taking it out, I make the hole bigger by moving it around and hammer one of the anchors in and screw in about a 1 1/2 inch screw. Good luck!
