Richard asks…
What kind of curtains for my family room/front room?
I am moving into my townhouse in a few weeks. In my family room/front room, I have a large “picture” window and then on a different wall, about 10 feet away, I have a sliding glass door to the patio. I am painting the walls a pretty, soft, beige, brown color. My couches are chocolate brown. My trim and crown molding are white. What color curtains? I am also looking for valances, as the patio door has vertical blinds, so I want to cover the top of the blinds a little. Suggestions on colors? I was thinking white/off-white to stand out? Locations/stores to shop for them? I have checked Target, JcPenney, Walmart, Kmart, Overstock.com, Kohls, Marshalls and TJMaxx. Any other suggestions would be appreciated!!

You can go with cream or i think what it would go best is green it would bring life in your room brown with green goes good and pink but don’t get any pink or green they are some nice soft colors that you cant even describe. Good luck oh and you can bye different color try them and then return them

Nancy asks…
Stupid question; what do you think?
This Home & Garden store is having a sale, curtains for $10 and curtain rods for $2. My blinds suck, I wake up when the sun rises.
Unfortunately this store is really far away. It takes an hour’s walk down a highway to get there, or 2 bus tickets gets me there and back.
I kindof picture the curtain rod is going to be long and difficult to walk with. Do you think the bus driver would let me take it on the bus? Or should I just walk with it? Or just get a cab? Nobody around to drive me.

Aaron answers:
Cab ….

Lighting, glares, reflections? About to buy a new TV, thinking LCD HDTV?
I am moving to a very bright condo with windows everywhere, i know i can use curtains or blinds, but I like the sunlight. So I am thinking about buying a LCD HDTV and I would love to know what I need to ask or look for when I’m purchasing this at a store. I can ask the sales man, but i don’t always trust them. I read that the LCD is the best for low reflection. I also read that some TV’s have different types of tints or something. Can anybody tell me the real deal. Please and Thanks!

Aaron answers:
The lcd does cut down on the glare. Depending on what size your getting. You would need to consider the resolution. Anything under 42 inches and youd be fine going with a 720p resolution. If you do alot of blue ray watching then go for a 1080p. We recently picked up a vizio 42″ 720p and it was under a grand. We did have to tweak the picture when we got it home but the picture deffinately rivals taht of the big brands that are twice as much cash. The vizio is very easy to callibrate the picture so youll get a great color.

Wanted to block light off the window?
We live in an apartment and there is a lamppost just near our bedroom window. At night, the light from the lamp seeps in from the edges of the white color blinds and disturbs our sleep.
Our apartment has a policy of sticking any paper on the windows directly. We also don’t want to put up curtains as the apartment people charge heavily for any holes drilled for the nails.
Is there any kind of solution apart from plastering aluminum foil…something like a curtain which sticks to the walls directly or any temporary blinds?
Does anyone know of any store where we may find such items?

Aaron answers:
I went through this exact situation this past June through December while temporarily renting.
Here’s what I did…I purchased from Walmart in their camping section, a reflective emergency blanket, the kind they hand out at the end of a marathon race. That was about $2.00. Then I purchased the tacky putty teachers use to put up posters on classroom walls.
I put little balls of the tacky putty around the window and stuck the blanket to the putty. The blanket had to stay up permanently until I moved out, but it was worth it. I used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean the spots left by the putty when we moved out.
Good luck.

Can someone please help me figure out this dream I had?
I’m used to having very weird random dreams every night. But this one seemed kind of creepy. And I can’t stop thinking about it.
Last night I had a dream that I was walking down a tunnel-like hallway with my ex boyfriend, my best friend and my other friend Catherine. I remember looking back at my ex boyfriend and then hearing Catherine say “Trust me, I dealt with him for four years” which was weird because they have never dated before and just recently became friends this year. Then somehow we ended up on top of a building and I think we were trying to break into it because there was police everywhere. Then we went from there and ended up in a car. I don’t know who else was in the car, but i remember there was three other people in it with me. We drove past a building that was made completely out of red brick. I can still see exactly what the building looked like. I remember the people in the car were talking about how there was a tragedy there and how we were all going to go down in history with the building because we were there when something terrible had happened. I don’t know what that was, but I remember feeling uneasy as I looked at it, like I was supposed to have died in the building or something. Then the car was stopped at a convenient store or food place or something and everyone got out of the car. You know in those horror movies when the creepy guy enters the store and no one is in it besides the person working and everything seems like something is going to pop out and chop your head off? That’s how the store felt. Then I got back in the car and a man walked up with a woman and her child. I know this sounds oddly detailed but I remember the woman telling me her son had downs syndrome. Then after that it was dark and I was talking to someone in the back seat of the car, but I can’t remember any of what was said and it was too dark to know who it was. All of a sudden I went from the car to my house. I have a small house, a condo. So there aren’t many different rooms. This is where things got really weird.
My house in real life is always dark. My mom keeps the blinds and curtains closed most of the time. In my dream my house was very sunny. It seems warm and welcoming. Which was the first sign that something weird was going on. Then I realized that I had taken a pill that basically was made to kill me. Like a suicide pill. I wasn’t alone in my house. The woman and her child were there, and so was my friend Billy who is a little less than three years older than me. I remember looking around my living room and seeing the woman holding her child and sitting in the only chair in my living room. They were already dead. At this point I had realized I also took the pill, even though I don’t remember ever taking it. The two dead were left downstairs and me and Billy went upstairs to a room I had never seen before. I was laying on my stomach crying. My voice was only a whisper because I was close to death. I can still hear what I was saying to Billy. I was holding on to him saying “Please make it stop. I changed my mind. I don’t want to die.” I remember repeating this over and over to him, and all he said was “There’s only ten minutes left.” When I questioned him he said that we had to die within the next ten minutes or something that I can’t remember would happen. I remember then repeating what I had said earlier one more time and then closing my eyes. When my eyes were closed I could feel them getting heavy and my breathing getting shallow. At that point I woke up and had to take a deep breath to get my breathing regular. Then I fell back asleep and the dream continued but was completely different.
Now usually if I have a weird dream like this or even just some other kind of random weird dream I get excited. I love my dreams.
But this is the second time I’ve had a dream like this; killing myself by taking some kind of pill and slowly dying. And I believe other people were around in the past dream too.
I’ve had repeat dreams before. I just don’t think its right to have a dream like that twice.
So pleasee!! If anyone could possibly help me out and even at least just tell me what part of my dream could mean that would be a great help!!

Aaron answers:
If you dwell on a dream, or even a concept in a dream, it makes you more likely to dream about it again. The first dream was probably just random brain activity, the second was probably because you were dwelling on it too much.
