Lisa asks…
Im trying to find curtains that are of a paper-like material?
Please help!!! We have really long windows in the living room of our new apartment and were thinking of cheap ways to cover them, and my b/f came up with these curtains that are of a paper like material but i’ve never seen them before. If anyone knows what i am talking about and know where to find them…please let me know. And if you also have any other ideas on curtains or blinds for cheap…that would be great to. Thank You.

Try looking in a goodwill store. You might find alot more than you are looking for. I love recycled stores.

Where can I find closet curtains?
I have wooden sliding doors for my closet, but they are really annoying to have because I have to keep sliding them back and fourth if I want to get something on the other side of the closet. So I decided to get curtains, but I have looked everywhere (online) and cant find any place that sells them. I want curtains that are two sheets, so i can seperate them at the middle, and get things from both sides. And I want a color like some shade of blue, or light brown. If you know where I should look, please help. Thanks!

Aaron answers:
All you need is a pair of curtains put them on a tension rod and you have a closet curtain , you can either go sheer to match the colour of the walls or a complimentary colour .
Or you can also buy 2 single twin size sheets, and use the larger hem to feed the rod in.

David asks…
What kind of curtains should I get for my house?
Some people are so very cruel and like to ridicule my mother’s antique curtains so I’m going to get new ones and I don’t know what kind. I like purple and I’m bitter if you have any suggestions please answer. PS my old ones are very very lacy and I love ‘em to death!!! Almost as much as my Nico!

Aaron answers:
Don’t change your curtains! If you have antique lace curtains keep them, they are unique and original. The people who ridicule your curtains are JEALOUS, and if they can’t have, they try to make sure that you DON’T have ether.

I need some ideas to choose a color for window curtains?
I am into decorating my living room. The wall color is peach or light orange.I need some suggestions regarding what color should i choose for window curtains that compliments the wall color.
Should i go with the same peach, light orange or some shades darker? Can you suggest me any dark color that compliments peach?
Thanks.

Aaron answers:
Instead of matching the curtains to the paint, or the furniture, instead think about how you want the room to feel. If you want the room to feel bright and airy and calm, then choose white or sheer curtains, with a white roman or rolling blind for privacy. If the look you want is one more of cozyness, then choose darker shades like burgundy, or brown for the curtains. But also consider the scale of the room. If it is a tiny room, long dark curtains might make it feel claustrophobic, especially if you have bulky dark or patterned furniture.
This is how interior decorators plan out which window dressings to choose!

Linda asks…
Can you help me pick a fabric/colour for some curtains?
I just moved in to a new apartment. The living and dining rooms are connected by a large doorway, and I’d like to make some curtains that would match both colours. The living room is a lemongrass and the dining room is a nice brick red tone. I know it sounds like they clash, but they really blend quite nicely. I’m looking for a colour that will blend with both, any suggestions?

Aaron answers:
You have several options. You could try to find material that has a pattern with both colors in it and have curtains made (that is if you can’t find premade curtains with a suitable print!) You could also use a chocolate brown/espresso color in a textured silk. You could use a natural linen.
I would suggest going to a fabric store and getting swatches. They will cut you TONS of swatches of any fabric that you think may work. Then you can bring them home and see what you think! Be creative, sometimes the colors you would never think of, work the best! Good luck!
