Steven asks…
correct size curtains? How do you know which size to get?
sorry for being so dumb but i have never done this before! I have measured one of the windows as 61 width and 54 drop, so which size curtains do i buy? For instance when you see ready made curtains in the shop and they have a measurement-is that for one curtain or the pair? Someone told me that you should buy curtains that are double the measurement of the width , is this true? I am so confused! and embarrassed for being so clueless. I hope this question makes sense!

Aaron answers:
OK, the sizes on the pack are for each curtain. Obviously, if you buy the same width as your window, it’s going to look a bit stretched when they’re closed, so go for about one and a half times the width. (Twice is usually for nets.)
So, you’re going to look for a pair that are each about 45 wide and 54 drop (and make sure you know whether you’re dealing in inches or cms!).
And you’re not being stupid – we’ve all been there! Don’t be afraid to ask in the shop if necessary, I’m sure they’re used to it, and better to be safe than sorry.

Where can i buy cheap living room curtains?
On a budget so can’t afford these made to measure curtains i just want some nice ones that don’t cost the earth for the living room. I want them in red, chocolate brown or cream, and they need to be 290cmx290 as the window is really big, but no-where seems to sell ready made curtains that big!
Would it be cheaper to buy some nice material and ask my mum to make them? She is fab at sewing! Please include pictures if you find anything nice. xxx

Where can i buy Power Rangers curtains, with a 90″ drop?
Ideally i would love the curtains ready made, however if this isnt possible i would be happy to purchase the material on a roll so i can have them made. Have tried ebay etc…no joy
Please help me make a 3 year old boy very happy!

Aaron answers:
I have found that most kids curtains only seen to come in a 48 or 72 drop, try a material shop.

Richard asks…
Who can I get to hang curtains?
I bought some quite pricey ready made curtains but I am really bad at hanging curtains and they do not look good. Who could I pay to come and do them properly? Would a curtain shop do this?

Aaron answers:
A curtain hanger

Mark asks…
i need some advice about measuring curtains its my first time buying curtains ?
im going to buy ready made curtains is it 1 curtain i measure or is it the window i measure

Aaron answers:
Measure the window width, then double that to get the correct “fullness” in your window treatments.
You wouldn’t want to put one 72″ wide curtain panel on a 72″ window, it would look like a bed sheet hanging there. Two panels would be better. You want to double the fabric so that it looks full and pretty. That wavy drapery look.
